Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Ellen Kirschling earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina, where she focused on Scientific Foundations and completed a pre-dental concentration. She went on to earn her dental degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.

Athletics have always been an important part of Dr. Kirschling’s life. She played volleyball throughout high school and continued competing at the club level while attending the University of South Carolina. Her background in exercise science and lifelong interest in health ultimately helped lead her to a career in dentistry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Kirschling enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and being outdoors. She is also a dog lover and enjoys exploring new places whenever she gets the chance. A trip to Italy remains a favorite, which is fitting given her love of Italian food.

And perhaps most impressive for a dentist, Dr. Kirschling has never had a cavity! She also has a more adventurous story to tell: she was once stung by a stingray.
