Born in Europe, Dr. Milen Matev moved to Chicago with his family at the age of 8. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago before attending Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his dental degree.

Dr. Matev appreciates both the science and problem-solving involved in dentistry. He takes a thoughtful, straightforward approach to patient care, focusing on helping patients understand their oral health and the options available to them. He believes good dentistry starts with clear communication and works to provide care that supports each patient’s health, function, and long-term goals.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Matev enjoys staying active through biking and tennis and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoys visiting national parks and exploring new places.

Dr. Matev also has a technical side and enjoys building computers; a hobby that combines his curiosity with his love of figuring out how things work. And when it’s time to recharge, a great cup of coffee and fresh seafood are hard to beat.
