About Dr. Kelsi Herfel

Dr. Kelsi Herfel grew up in Mauston, a small town about 70 miles northwest of Madison. During her sophomore year at UW Madison, she wanted to shadow a dentist. She called First Choice, and, in her words, the person who answered the phone “changed the course of her career and her life.” She was invited to shadow Dr. Squires and spent many days shadowing her and her great team. What an awesome story! Dr. Herfel went on to earn her dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Herfel, her husband, Zach, and their dogs, Apollo and Remmy recently moved to an old Victorian farmhouse that has been in Zach’s family for generations and have been enjoying taking care of their newly planted garden and chickens. Dr. Herfel is a bit of a home body, but when she does travel, she loves to go up north or out West. She also loves enjoying a relaxing evening on the porch with Zach and her pups.
